Description: This is an interesting and stunning piece. At different angles, the structure of this stone appears to be either octahedron - like a stacked pyramid shape - or like a dodecahedron - which has diamond shaped "windows" on its surface. So, the surfaces of this stone are both triangular and diamond shaped, giving this stone an almost magical appearance. It is almost perfectly clean with one small wisp-like inclusion on one edge that will be covered most likely when set, though it could be set in a manner that the tiny inclusion is laid bare - for intrigue. The surface of the stone has geometric lines on it, gently outlining the shape of the windows themselves. This provides a multidimensionality to the appearance of the diamond - giving it shine and sparkle as well. Description: This is such a classy and beautiful dodecahedral raw diamond. The stone is nicely proportional, but also a little tiny bit disproportionate in just the right way, so that it is obvious it was formed by the earth. The stone has an obvious center window that would face upward, and the lines on that surface are vertical, meanwhile, on the windows that connect with the center window, the surface lines are horizontal, and the effect is as if it was sketched so that each surface would stand alone but also come together in a magnificent and unique tapestry of diamond that is extremely pleasing to the eye. From this stone you can see my passion for raw diamonds. This one, though it is colorless and clean and clear throughout, holds the light with an ever so golden shine and the effect is out of this world.

Description: Rounded rhombododecahedral raw diamond that has an open face and flat countenance to it. From the other side of the stone, this depression in the stone appears as a bright glowing light internally. Description: This is a really cool raw diamond. If you look closely, especially from the "underside" of this diamond, you can see that the original crystalline structure of the stone is a triangle. Ordinarily, these shapes grow pretty linearly, into a thicker triangle over time or eventually an octahedron. However, in this stone, the triangular crystals did grow upward from their base, but simultaneously, on all straight edges and in the corners, new crystalline structures grow outward in triangular shapes as well, creating a six-pointed star shape. This is really unbelievable and a joy to simply look at and observe. The top center of the crystal is again a triangle, but has a little uniqueness in its shape as well, almost like a teardrop at the heart of the stone. The center of this stone is clean and clear, and it s a true gem of a rough diamond.

Description: We are absolutely loving this unique freeform raw diamond with a crystally surface that is full of various (mostly triangular) shapes growing in different directions. The base of the stone is flat, so it will set really securely and nicely against the shank of  a ring, and the stone grows outward and upward in various shapes creating sparkle and shine. The interior of this stone contains no inclusions that we are able to see, and what we really love about pieces like this is that this stone would cut into a near-perfect cut diamond, but here in its raw state, it looks rough and unique and a bit rustic. Description: Bright white octahedral rough diamond with beautiful concentric triangle surface patterning through the stone. The surface patterning adds sparkle and extra refraction of the light source. Within the stone, it's very clear and has one inclusion that is awesome to look at. The inclusion is a ring of carbon compounds that was trapped within the diamond during formation. From some angles it looks like a point, and from one particular angle it appears as a square, perfectly centered with one of the points of the octahedron jutting out from it. It's a lovely and interesting stone, both architectural, but also a bit earthy, while also being the brightest white a stone can possibly be.

The light it gives off is truly white, and the interior of the stone is also a bright white, it is the exterior that holds the faint coloring. The interior is clean and clear with a few wisps of trapped matter from it formation, and the stone has a slightly offset but architectural lok to it giving it yet another unique aspect. The Magen ring is a rough diamond solitaire engagement ring that is set in a totally unique way. The diamond is placed in a custom-created criss-cross basket setting to securely hold it but also to showcase the absolutely uniqueness of the rough diamond and its nontraditional look. We chose the name Magen for this ring because in Hebrew it means "shield". The design looks like a diamond studded shield of shiny gold protecting its inner raw diamond. Along the criss-cross are small cut diamond melee and you can choose whether or not to include diamonds on the top half of the band. 

The stone you choose above will be our starting point for creating your Magen Ring, as the design of the ring follows the unique shape of every raw diamond. Your ring will arrive to you as one unified piece - stone and design together as your wearable piece of art.

A note about the source:

We sourced the sapphires as rough directly from our partner mine in Sri Lanka. It is an artisanal family-owned and operated mine that adheres to the highest labor and environmental standards in Sri Lanka. We sourced this rough diamond through a siteholder in Ramat Gan, Israel and therefore we are able to trace it directly to the mine in South Africa. 

The Hila ring is a rough diamond halo ring with conflict-free melee surrounding the center rough diamond on a simple high polish band. The contrast between the two types of diamonds in this ring is both complementary and intriguing. This particular ring looks excellent with unique rough diamonds as the center stone because we love the contrast between the cut and rough diamonds. The smooth high-shine band is extremely lightweight and wears very comfortably and elegantly. The prongs are naturally hand-shaped to grasp the center stone in a way fitting the uniqueness of the diamond. The band is 2.5mm wide and sits gently and comfortably on the finger so that it can be worn every day with ease. Create your own ring by following the steps below.
